We managed a visit to Studland Beach near Poole in Dorset last summer on one of the few really nice days in August. It was really good to strip off and enjoy.

Wouldn't recommend playing down at Monknash, there are no discreet dunes to wander off into plus there are the pervs that just come to have a gawp!

Near the village of Monknash, along the coast towards Ogmore from Cardiff Airport. The correct name for the beach is Traeth Mawr.

Hi - please could somebody tell me which end of Monknash beach has the old iron ladder?

I keep meaning to pop down there, hopefully will this summer and I'd love to make use of the ladder with no nicks and hopefully be seen - sorry, but I love the idea

It's the far end nearer ogmore , never used it ourselves we always come down the path and along the beach so not sure how high or safe it is but love your thinking about the nicks
