Have you reliable Internet? If so you can watch most movies by searching, Google drive: (name of film)

Then play. It's free. That gets around the issue of nothing on TV.

Hope that helps a little.

And as someone said, chat to them. It's good to have a listening ear.

Having done this before for several months, due to a injury.

It’s no walk in the park first three weeks isn’t to bad probably the reason they put that time on it unfortunately after that period I noticed others with the same injuries started to go down hill certainly in mental health.

Chat with friends as much as possible certainly take that walk every day.

You be amazed how you look forward to that trip to the supermarket.

honestly bet you can cope, we can all do amazing things if we really push ourselves.

just think about it logically, all your being asked to do is stay in and keep yourself and others safe, it's not really a massive task and by doing so you'll be helping the country by doing your bit in a time of need.

99.99^ certain that you can cope even if you don't know it

Be safe, stay positive,

A town and place not in the UK

There are some great uses of time, lots of free online courses, learn how to code, play and instrument, learn a new language, keep fit, deal with the mountain of books, keep in touch and make new friends and we see a certain porn provider has made its premium stuff free for a month

Look up top 50 films or series and browse. It's hard for others to say; what's good for them may not be your taste or genre.

I was immobilised for nearly 4 months after a bike accident. It was tough but would be tougher for those who don't enjoy their own company etc. One series I binged on was The 100. Loved it and watched it for weeks on end till I finished it. About 50 series with 8-10 episodes in each. Was disappointed when it ended.

trouble most likely, or creating it :)

Check with local charities if they need help. I spent several hours today dropping stuff off and chatting ( social distancing obviously) to some of those that are really housebound at this time.. chatting through a window to someone has made someones day... and keeps me from being isolated x

Have you tried the NHS? Takes a week apparently for application to clear but if you have a car it will get you out of the house and meeting people.

Also remember, social media is full of people saying how well there doing readong books, learning languages.

For me, if you get up in the morning, clean your teeth get dressed and only cry for an hour that counts as an achievement.

I'm sure lots of people are the same they just don't post it on fb etc.

So basically am saying your not alone in this.

I've got Firestick with "add-ons" but can hardly use it cos my download speed is around 2MBP's it's a fucking joke!

Managed to get access to family Netflix account so that will help somewhat but really pissed off about my internet speed. I wouldn't mind but I'm the only one in the household as well so not exactly like my internet is getting hammered.

You are not being "locked down" because of the severity of the disease

You are locked down so that the people who can be saved by nhs treatment when they catch it can go on to leave be normal lives. If we weren't locked down then the number that could be helped would exceed the numbers the NHS can deal with

It seems we are battling two virus

Covida19 and stupidity

This is a global trauma and lots of people are suffering. Make goals and try to get a bit closer to them every day. Be gentle on yourself.

Reach out to friends online, it's how we'll stay sane.

I had the virus a couple of weeks ago and although not a walk in the park, i was only really ill for about 3 or 4 days. High temperatures, no appetite, no taste, headache and constant coughing. Not even the worst flu ive ever had.

There seems to be an incredibly high panic about this and it's still nowhere near to the death rate for normal seasonal flu...

I feel sure there is much more to all this than we've been told!

Maybe I'm just cynical but I suspect that we're all being manipulated big time for some ulterior motive!

My thoughts but I'm not alone in thinking this.. not been out for 2 weeks but why is the government seen as heroes when they've dragged their heels at every moment and only acted when pushed into acting? There's always heroes around but give credit where it's actually due!

I did have my worse flue in my life 30 days ago when I was in the USA... Pretty sure it was Corona... I thought I was gonna die, but I voluntarily self isolated in the hotel, bought a few coughing and flue bottles, antioxidant vitamin, water, grapes and had plain whiskey every dinner for a week... These was gone after 5 days, but it was horrible... Now imagine the elders... Yes can't use your personal experience to impose it's the same for everyone. But in my own opinion I was just with a cough infection, could be Corona but I have no attachment for this life as we are all eternal... So fck it

It’s going to be ok, this is the worst period the transition stage! You have done a week already so you’re doing well!

Remember your in the best place keeping yourself safe! All the people who stay in and keep safe are doing people like me and frontline workers a massive favour! So thank you!

It’s a scary place out there and it’s hard to keep people calm and stress levels down! So don’t think you’re not coping because you are and you’re doing just fine and each day you will adjust that little bit more! So bare with and believe in yourself!

Thank you for the encouragement, that is what people need to hear. We have enough of the doom mongers and naysayers on here.... We will come through this, humanity has done in the past, nothing to suppose it won't this time. At the moment the imponderables are the matter of how long it may take and what sort of shape the economy will be in..

Well let’s not panic too much about the economy because there is little we can do about it at this stage! It will bounce back in its own sweet way. It might not be quite the same but it will tread it’s own path!

See what you say and yes, it will recover but why not try and keep as much going as possible. The lower you let it fall the longer will be the recovery and the greater will be the taxes required to fill the hole. As it is our grandchildren will be paying for this anyway..

"Were you tested?

I wasn't tested but had all the typical symptoms.. very few folk are being tested in the uk.. I do want to have an antibody test when that's available though.. i do think I'm immune to that particular strain now though!"

Then don't say you 'had' the virus!

Since I had all the exact published symptoms and was totally out of action for about 4 days I am pretty certain that I had what has been described as the Corona virus!

If the government can't sort out testing everyone it's not my fault!

"I had the virus a couple of weeks ago and although not a walk in the park, i was only really ill for about 3 or 4 days.

So you tested positive?

"hello might not be 3 months ,just take one day at a time ,talk to .people on this site "

for those of us in the civil service.... today means i am 2 weeks into at least 12 off... so 10 weeks till we can at least go back!

i am lucky in that i had enough on my sky q set i hadn't watched that i am going thru the backlog... and i will admit in the 14 days so far i have had 2 "rough" days! but all you can do is take it a day at a time and at the moment i and trying to keep to a same routine of getting up like i would have done for work, same rough break times so i can a least have a yoghurt... and a meal time for dinner...

basically... routine routine routine

Can't keep this up for long, the reason we are top of the tree is because we are social by nature. The longer we are forced to keep apart the more damage will be done to society.

I think we all have different ways to deal with this and none of them are wrong if it works for you. Speaking personally, I'm thoroughly enjoying working through 80-odd episodes of Spooks on i-player that I alternate with The Big Bang Theory. If people don't like this, other programmes are available. Anything that makes me laugh and raises my spirit gets my vote. Failing that, there are lots of great stories on here for me to jerk off to. Doubtless I will get callouses, but staying safe is rather more important to me.

Stay focused on the present, as this is all that you have and can make the most of - it's the reality, whereas thoughts and worries aren't about what is definitely happening.

If you follow the ideas of others and pursue what can make your day have some meaning that's right for you today.

Put this in another thread reckon it is relevant her too:

Just going to add my five pen'eth..

This virus and the situation it has created is truly terrifying.

Now comes the "however" and a big one.

Humans are wired to crave intimacy in all its myriad forms. It is in our DNA, it is with us in our mother's womb, you can't be much more intimate than that!!

It is why we as a species are able to procreate. The arrival of some poxy little virus is not going to be able to undo what is innate inside us and has been since we emerged as homo sapiens and even before that.

Yes, people will hold back and evaluate the situation but in the end humanity will return to wanting intimacy. It will NOT spend the rest of time 2 metres apart!! It just will not happen. Folk will start to tentatively reach out to each other and the old ways will return. Our DNA ensures it.

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

I live alone, in a fairly remote place, and have lived here for over 5 years. Three years ago I walked out of a job as I'd had enough and had the best part of a year of doing not a lot. Ok, I could go out when I wanted, but that was mainly on a weekend.

At present, I'm working from home. It's a bit dull during the day, but we use Microsoft Teams and to keep morale up we have quizzes and bingo, etc, to break the monotony.

But on an evening I'm watching lots of music on YouTube, my band - obviously we can't meet, but we're all recording songs on our phones, so I've been editing them and putting them on our YouTube channel, I've borrowed a guitar to learn to play it, and have a pile of unread books to read.

The only real downside at the moment is they got me a new car and have only done 80 miles in it - to the shops and back - it's a longish trip, as I've been shopping for my parents, too, as their in their late 70s and early 80s.

I hardly have time to notice I'm alone!

If you live alone, get in touch with a friend on the phone/skype. I spent today talking to family and friends. Go for a walk, a smile or "good day" to a passer by as you walk pass helps you feel connected.

I am in the same situation as you living alone. This is incredibly tough. I guess we have to try and make the best of a terrible situation and keep as occupied as possible. I have started doing some painting and decorating that I had been procrastinating over for 2 months. It isn't exciting but I do feel a sense of achievement and that I have accomplished something at the end of each day.
