Why just swinging clubs? Not that much different to nightclubs or restaurants, don't think they'll all be closed do you? It's more than just bodily fluids you get this from. |

Even if clubs do close, new ones will spring up again eventually, so I don't think it's an end to clubs altogether. I think it will be a while before any open their doors again though, so sadly some will close down permanently.
Same with a lot of pubs and restaurants, unfortunately. |

Exactly- so many deluded people on here just don't get it. Pubs and restaurants may eventually be allowed to open with strict social distancing in place but that's not so easy in a club! So you can't compare. Sadly it's the end for all clubs until a vaccine is found . |

There is a big difference between a swinger club and a pub, and especially a restaurant.
In a restaurant tables can be spaced to ensure social distancing. Table staff can wear masks to minimise transmission.
In a pub the bar staff can also wear masks. Customer numbers can be limited and social distancing rules applied.
However before any of that happens we've got a long way to go.

I think there are dark days ahead for some clubs unfortunately 
In previous threads discussing post-COVID19 clubs there seems to be a few people who will be giving them a swerve when they open until there is a vaccine in place. Problem is, we may never have a vaccine.
So even if clubs do reopen it will be to a reduced number of clients.
Hopefully we don't lose any clubs, but the harsh reality is some may just fall by the wayside. |

A viable, tested, vaccine is still a long way off, & even once/if they manage to make one it'll be a long time before they can make enough of it for it to be available for everyone.
Personally, I'm not even contemplating going back to clubs for the foreseeable future. |

some sadly will close. I'm good friends with a few club owners and I know the rough limitations on my favourite ones staying open and as time goes on I will worry.
I miss the clubs and will be back the day the doors open.. same as many will their local pub or restaurant |

We don't know the future, so better to wait to see how things evolve. Clubs have creativity in how they respond to it in future too - they don't have to reopen as if nothing is different. Customers may be eager for alternative club responses.
We would probably all be naive to imagine the future to be more of the same of what we've ever had before. The economy is going to be different too. Perhaps clubs cater to differing social needs as things open up, with less resources focusing on sex? Different membership and charging options could become attractive. More people could have extra leisure time, if overseas holidays are restrained. The future is more open than it was. We have lots of fantastic clubs and management teams that know and can anticipate customer needs. |

The Government said on Sunday that clubs, hotels, pubs and restaurants will be amongst the last places to open.
I can't see the above mentioned places opening until a vaccine or cure is found so it might be awhile before we can go out for the night (or any other time of day) for the foreseeable future |

You state by having had corona we will be immune? This is false as there’s already cases where people have been treated for it and discharged hospital only to get it again. So just having it isn’t then a case of then being immune. Also there was reports that theirs 2 strains. |

Whilst I understand everyone’s fears but at the moment everything you discuss is based purely on speculation not actually based on facts because the simple answer to anything to do with the future is as simple as this ‘we just don’t know’. I’m fairly certain that loads of business were lost during the world wars and we rebuilt as country. This will happen again as we’ve done after the wars. Or after a recession. People don’t actually know what the future holds. It’s looking highly likely we have an impending financial crisis that could affect every single one of us and not just for a case of going to a club to socialise with likeminded people and possibly have sex. So whilst I have sympathy for every single club owner who may or may not lose there business. And also sympathy for every member of the community who’s not able to meet for sex. Unfortunately at the moment there’s bigger issues. I’ve had 2 friends lose grandparents this week to covid19 and one of those has had a second grandparent admitted to hospital so there’s bigger issues to consider than if a clubs going to close forever or not. Especially when ‘IF’ someone goes out of business someone will come along to take there place. That’s just life and it’s sad. But it’s life. All I actually think posting such speculation does is raise people’s anxieties even further. So can we forgot the speculation and work on facts. Have a laugh and support each other through this rather than scaremongering..... |

I think there’s a degree of overstatement going on. Yes, covid-19 is transferred by contract as well as by airborne droplets, but the evidence suggests that you can’t catch the same variant twice. If you could then a vaccine would be ineffective. If you have had the virus and recovered, you will not be able to pass it on. The whole lockdown thing is an effort to halt the spread of the virus, a bit like a firebreak. By keeping everyone sufficiently apart, those who have the virus will recover without spreading it further. Eventually you have a population of people who have had the virus and those who have not, but the latter are ok because you have no active cases to contend with. This is why testing and tracing is important. Once we hit that point, life returns to normal.
For those who think swinger clubs are doomed, have you considered what the impact will be on gyms? Try social distancing and keeping clear of body fluids in one. How many people will rigorously clean equipment before and after use ? Now consider things like sports. Ever played contactless football? Bit boring if you can’t tackle.
I’m an optimist. I think that we will hit that tipping point in late summer and some sense of normality will return, but all points of entry to the UK will need to enforce strict testing to prevent a further outbreak. |

The issue with any vaccine is that you’ll always get people who won’t do it. Novak Djokovic has already said he won’t get the vaccine and he travels worldwide to play tennis so I’d consider him high risk.
The antibody test currently only confirms that you’ve had coronavirus not Covid-19 specifically. Until governments decide what risk they are willing to take and what measures they can implement for businesses and events to resume then we’ll be in lockdown for a while yet. |

There seem to be quite a few people on here who must work for either the government or the WHO judging by their informed views on when there will be a vaccine.
This virus is still in it's infancy, none of us know if or when a cure will be found, but just the rate that people are contracting and recovering from it is a good sign that peoples bodies are already overcoming it. Most people think they have been super safe, but who can say for sure that they have never been in contact with someone who has it ? And yet we are still here. I work as a bus driver so am considered being in a high risk group, yet only 20 drivers out of around 25000 have died, less than .1%.
I think clubs will reopen and flourish again. As someone else pointed out, AIDS was predicted to sound the death knell to swinging as it hit right at the heart of our fun. There was a massive downturn in clientele, then it gradually crept back up to previous levels and then exceeded them as the internet spread the word about swinging, and there is still no guaranteed cure for it. People will always want to have sex with people other than their partners, and the virus will not quench that desire. |

Although not 5 years, I do think pubs, clubs, etc. will take a lot longer to open than most think they will. If the were to open with a reduced capacity, to adhere to some level of social distancing (which the CMO suggested would be until at least the end of the year), many will not be able to afford to open anyway. That's the impossible problem that needs to be solved |

I do hope clubs are open this year... to some of us it's our main source of social interaction . Clubs are my relationship almost. I've attended clubs numerous times a week for about 19 years.... it's a huge shock and loss to me and it isnt just me. Many of my friends are the same. Obviously when your a regular club user you get to know the others that go alot..
For those like me that have had this sort of lifestyle for many many years... it's not about the sex.
. It's about the lifestyle... yes I understand why and the necessity of it...but doesnt stop it being hard to deal with.
Bit like the old guy I'm taking shopping to ... he feels life is pointless now he cant go to the cafe and pub and sit and chat to new people and friends... each week I'm seeing him get more and more despondent... I stay and chat through his window but its not the same. |

I think it will depend on how the lock down is lifted.
It could be more a case of low risk groups being allowed to do more than higher risk groups.
But I can't see leisure activities being a top priority for lifting restrictions and clubs are in a bind as they need local authority licensing to operate so if they don't comply there are other leavers authorities can pull. |

I can understand both side of your points. Whilst I’m still do my first club visit I understand how people can miss it on such a deeper level than sex. As for the old boy and the pub I’m really feeling it not been able to go. Yesterday was a prime example as I’d had a very tough day at work. Normally I would go to pub sit alone have a couple of pints to unwind and process the day before going home. I don’t really drink at home so it was hard not having that outlet |

Agree with you about the clubs. We're regulars too and it's the missing social interaction that's the hardest. We don't necessarily go to play, but it's been our life for nearly 2 years now, and it's trying to get used to this sudden stop |

Like others we fully agree with you about the clubs.
For me (Mr) swinger clubs have been a part of my life for over 30 years and for us as a couple for over 10 years, and pretty much represent 99% of our swinger life. We do hardly anything outside of a club.
It was a real double whammy for us. Our favourite club closed just before Christmas (problem with the local authority) so we were trying a few new ones and revisiting others to try and find a replacement.
Our friends who worked at the club had just got themselves sorted in a new venue and we were on the list for the first event. Then the virus hit. Event cancelled and all clubs closed.
We really don't know where our swinger life will go after this. This virus may eventually die away or weaken but it will still be around for a very long time, maybe forever.
Of course clubs will eventually open again (who knows when?) but with both of us being in a higher risk category, I'm wondering if we will still have enough confidence to go back.
We probably will but it will considerably change they way we operate. |

Have been on the scene a while but has been getting less. Me and wife attended clubs now and again.with this though and people who may have it and not know even us who knows, I think we will probably be moving on and enjoy each other as a couple. I really think its going to be too risky. Lost an aunt from it recently. Makes you take stock a little of what we have close to us.not a deal breaker for us, have got some good memories from this. |

A glimmer of hope exists in the form that the government are keen to push for the UK being the first country to produce a vaccine.
Human trials begin today and Oxford and Imperial Universities have been given over 40 million each to help with their development.
Unlike other viruses that have cropped up in the past, it took days for the genetic code to come out. Not months.
In January they expected a vaccine by September and rolled out next year. We’re ahead on that.
Obviously thousands of people have died and remain in a bad way, but it looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
What’s the knock on effect? Well that’s down to how the government rolls out the vaccine and I think there are very few people who know how that looks.

Can't see clubs being open again until vaccine is developed. Restaurants, pubs etc can still organise a degree of social distancing but for clubs....well it sort of defeats the object of them being open.
