Unless foul play is suspected then what's the point.

You don’t need a post-mortem if you already know the cause of death.

Some PM’s are pointless

With the numbers of deaths holding unnecessary PMs will just create a backlog of bodies to be stored, and will lead to delays in funerals.

This

Also they gave to be treated as high risk which is timely and costly

I wonder how many annoying spouses are going to get bumped off with a bit of arsenic?

Post mortems will still be done on people who’ve not received recent medical assistance

I was on a project looking to resource refrigerated sites for 4,000 bodies for one hospital in London.

Nicities go out the window I'm afraid

"no funerals - bed to oven, no ceremony"

There are still funerals in Scotland atm

There are limitations on numbers, and there has been an appeal people do not delay funerals in the hope of restrictions on numbers and distancing

There is no bed to oven here though at the moment

Portland

As an aging swinger of 66 and could be knocking on heavens door.

I am thinking ! How would I like my earthly remain disposed of. And I am sure that a lot of people of my age and older think the same.

When we. I depart of this life. Instead of being put on ice, awaiting a slot to be cremated. I would like to be buried with dignity. In a place of memorial. To those that lost their lives to this pandemic. On a moor, valley or hillside within a national park. Where a tree can be planted to mark my resting place. Along with others, to create a new wood or forest. Where future generations can visit their loved one. And remember the tragedy that had befallen their loved one. And there death gave life to an oak or pine and beech tree.

It would save the country a fortune on Russian gas.

A nice idea but probably not a workable one
