If a message is read but not deleted

Hi, I have noticed that quite regularly messages are read, not responded to and not deleted. If it's deleted I understand a person isn't interested can I assume if they haven't responded they too are not interested in chatting after reading? Is it acceptable then for me to just delete the message to free up my sent items or does this look bad front he other persons point of view? Would appreciate any feedback. Maybe I'm over thinking?

Can't speak for others, but if it's been sat there opened with no response for a couple of weeks it's safe to say it's a no.

You don't need to free up space in your sent items

But they just might not have had time to reply.

If you're monitoring your sent mail, just delete as soon as you sent to save you checking

They wouldn't know you've deleted it from your sent items.
