Toy storage

Where do people hide their toys and dressing up stuff please?
We now appear to have a very nosy 6yo who in the last two weeks has found amongst other things our handcuffs, ties, ballgag and my vibrator 
We thought they were securely hidden away but obviously not!
Any tips on safe storage would be much appreciated. |

We use a large, black plastic storage box in the attic. The attic has a nice ladder for easy access.
Some bits and bobs like shoes and lingerie are in the wardrobe but things like the stuff you mentioned are in the attic storage box.
Next tip is to make sure you download ALL photographs from your camera to your password protected laptop and then onto a large storage stick (also carefully stored). |

Lovehoney do a very reasonable large lockable toy case. It’s black and doesn’t draw any attention. Good luck,we had to become very inventive as the kids got older and more inquisitive(nosey) lol!! |

We have a pine chest of drawers and fitted a lock on one of the
Drawers it holds the dressing up stuff and toys,only problem is that family or friends that stay
Will know also we found out our babysitter was going in there and using the toys, what we done then
Was put a lock on the bedroom door
That works wonders and still does now |

I know if I told my 6 year old not to do this or that the curiosity would get the better of her
Storage wise mine are now in concealed boxes ON TOP of my wardrobe |

I don't think it's too much,i also taught my daughter from an early age that everyone is entitled to personal space and that you have to respect that. She's now 13 and wouldn't dream of going through any of my stuff as she knows that's personal. |

I have an inbuilt cupboard in my bedroom with very high shelves. My box of goodies is on the top shelf at the other end away from the door hidden by a pile of spare pillows. So far so good!!! Lol. |

"Use a suitcase with combo lock on it - its a fairly normal item to keep under thr bed!"
But make sure to have big red lettering on it saying" Filthy Sex Toys" so it doesn't get accidentally confused with your office briefcase |

A locked cupboard should be ok as everyone should respect ypure personal stuff.
I don't see anything wrong with a child knocking and waiting for an answer before going in as I knock when wanting to go into thier rooms  |

I have 2 fire safes in my spare bedroom wardrobes.
They were about £40 each.
1 has important paper work etc and the other has toys.
It's not that I wanted to keep them THAT secure but it's more in keeping with what I'd actually have and guests know they can't pry in to a safe |

I wouldn't like my young child to have to knock and wait, I want them to know they can come to me at any time, day or night. |

Would definitely cut into the spur off the moment thing, but I always hid the kids christmas presents under their beds.
It was the one place guaranteed they never looked. |

We're more worried about our grown up son and daughter finding "things" if something happened to us - although I hope that's many decades away. But it can't be nice for grown ups to find parents various toys, party clothing and DVD's about. |

A while back we found a misslaid toy in our youngest daus bedroom. It was some what the worse for wear.
At the end of the day kids have to realise they didn't invent sex and that their parents have their own sexuality. |

We don’t have kids so the kinky dresses are hanging in the wardrobe with the work stuff and normal clothes.. the dildos, whips and floggers are on the chest of drawers and the hand cuffs and bed retrainsts are permantly fixed to the bed.... our house guests don’t ask questions! |

If you have a bedside cabinet or chest of drawers, remove the bottom drawer. Is there a gap between the floor and the bottom of the drawer, it may be large enough to hide some things? However, be careful that a free-standing chest of drawers doesn't topple over when you remove the bottom drawer. |

Hiding things in plain site is often the best way. Empty boxes that 'normal' things came out of or go in.
With younger children just put things above their reach.
I agree with the personal space lesson myself. And as I child we were given the same respect from our parents and they didn't come in without knocking. Unless we were screaming in agony or something  |

We have a big box in the wardrobe, I can't get the lid off as it's very tightly fitted... My toys are now being k*dnapped by my wardrobe 
But to be honest, ours don't go rummaging through our stuff they are 6&10. |

I've varied it but my cleaner was a little too thorough and indiscreet, as well as proving. She didn't last. Wardrobes or standalone units, potentially secured are fine. Plus using containers that don't seem interesting is good for personal stuff. |
