Only those you give the user name know you on it but it not let them know if your online just if message is sent delivered or if you're writing one if you in chat |

Yea if you don't want your messages coming thr then click on setting then my account then reset kik. It logs you out then if someone sends you a message they are an S untill you log back on again. I use this when my daughter's come n stay as my youngest often uses my phone to play games n i wouldn't want her to see any random dick pics lol. |

Yea if you don't want your messages coming thr then click on setting then my account then reset kik. It logs you out then if someone sends you a message they are an S untill you log back on again. I use this when my daughter's come n stay as my youngest often uses my phone to play games n i wouldn't want her to see any random dick pics lol. "

I know it seems strange but make sure you don't put your full name in. use a made up first and last name.
I've had 3 different occasions when someone has contacted me on kik without realising I could see their name. |

They could do with a log out option when I started using kik if you reset you lost all contacts |

Thanks all... It was just a bit weird, as it had automatically added a guy I've been talking to on here... no numbers exchanged or kik usernames shared... I fear tech... More at home with map & compass... x |

It linked me up with a vanilla friend once though. She had used her email and as I have her email address saved it suddenly pops up 'Do you want to chat to....?' I completely freaked out thinking she could see my cleavage PIC  so I now don't have a sexy PIC on it |

Just download the app. Once it's downloaded a pop up should come up saying if you want to match up with your phone book contacts. Click no and then your pretty much anonymous to your family and friends. |

I had done this and I use my 'Fab' email address but because my friend had ticked the 'match my contacts' box it linked us up x |

Kik is great because you don't have to give your phone number like whatsapp etc. Also when chatting you have the option to take photos within the conversation and they're basically a real time photo, so you know you're not dealing with someone sending 10 year old pics  |

Slightly off topic.... If you have been blocked by a user does the message still say S or is that just because the user hasn't been online?
A friend had changed phones & I know that if they have deleted the app it has a message saying something like 'this user is not online or is no longer available'. Do you get a message like 'you are not allowed to contact this user' when blocked? Just a little confused. I understand the D & R just wondered if the S was only for the user not being online. |
