Just wondering if there's any guys out there who have had a hydrocelectomy or any other surgery on their nuts?

Interested to know about other experiences and how there's has healed since having the procedure.

Although he was a child not an adult, my son has had the operation twice. Both went well and he recovered quickly

I'm sure the scar will fade with time.

I had a knee replacement over a year ago and the scar was massive and very angry looking but now is hardly seen

16 years ago. Now and again get an ache in my right testicle, result of scar tissue 'they' reckon. Usually goes after a long soak in a hot bath.

Shame, I used to enjoy having my balls grabbed/squeezed whilst doing doggy. Now, I flinch if they're touched anything less than gently. Psychological.

How's your scar? Is it visible?

Ha. Anything MORE than gentle

There is no visible scarring. The scar I'm on about is where my tube was cauterised.

I shouldn't worry though, I don't regret having it done and from speaking to others who have had it done they're fine with it.

No, no drainage. They cut the tubes that the sperm travels down and burnt the ends to seal them.

A mirror was held up so I could watch. It's fascinating smelling burning flesh, knowing it's yours, yet feeling nothing.

"Interesting. So can u still produce sperm?"

I think the best thing you can do is use your preferred search engine and read up on what's entailed. That or ask your GP.

I've got to have an op early next year for varacous veins on my testicles.

Hydroceles are fluid cysts outside of the testicle itself but inside the scrotum. It's just like getting any other cyst drained and removed.

You should be speaking to your doctor or registrar if you're scheduled for surgery on it. We used to do them on a day case for general anaesthetics

Also a surgical wound will heal well if you follow the advice you were given and don't keep prodding, pulling and tugging at it. You'll hardly notice a small scar on scrotal skin

"How's your scar? Is it visible?"

Most surgeons will do it through the joint down the midline of your scrotum so it won't be visible at all. Depends on their technique and the size of your cyst though

I had the procedure done last Wednesday and I'm healing well! Thanks for the responses.

What I would also like to know though is what are the chances of the cyst coming back and would a scar on the scrotom ever but you ladies off?

Chances for it coming back, ask your surgeon for specifics but its possible.

As for the scar, have you taken a look at a scrotum before? It's like loose elbow skin. You're not really going to notice a small scar unless your sack is as smooth as a billiard ball

If the scar is the only issue then try using some bio oil or coconut oil on it. Once in the morning and at bedtime.

I cannot believe anyone would have a issue over a scar

Although slightly different I had an operation on a varococele, (spelling may not be accurate) when I was 21. A small collection of overgrown blood vessels forming a knot that was giving me pain.

I have a scar at the top of my groin and to one side. I can only think of one person that commented on it.

I need about a month off work and couldn't do anything strenuous for another month after.

That was nearly 30 years ago and it has caused me no real problems since. An ache occasionally. Surgery has probably changed since then. One specialist at the time told me there was a small chance I may not be able to father children, while another said that was rubbish....three kids and a vasectomy later....

I can't say I would notice. But then I've had 2 csections, and wouldn't expect a guy to care about the scar from that...

Had a hydrocele and you can barely notice the scar. I've also had two hernia surgeries which have left very visible scars (as I prefer to be shaved) and have had a few questions but it hasn't put anyone off.
