George Soros doesnt think Theresa May will last long

'Theresa May will not remain in power long as Brexit cripples her government, while Donald Trump is a “would-be dictator” who is “going to fail”, the billionaire investor George Soros has told the Davos world economic forum.
On the eve of Trump’s inauguration as president, Soros delivered a scathing assessment, saying the “impostor and con-man” was “gearing up for a trade war” which would have “a very far-reaching effect in Europe and other parts of the world”.
The “would-be-dictator … didn’t expect to win, he was surprised”, Soros told an audience of business leaders and journalists in Davos where the World Economic Forum is being held.
“I personally have confidence that he’s going to fail … because his ideas that guide him are inherently self-contradictory,” added Soros, who was a supporter of Trump’s Democratic rival Hillary Clinton during the 2016 US presidential election campaign.
Soros said he expected financial markets to “not do very well” because of the uncertainty generated by the Trump administration.
On Theresa May and Brexit, Soros predicted economic upheaval in Britain and substantial difficulties in bringing about a clean break with the European Union – and the prospect of the UK quickly joining again or entering a successor arrangement once the referendum mandate of leaving the EU was fulfilled.
“In my opinion it is unlikely that prime minister May is actually going to remain in power. Already she has a very divided cabinet, a very small majority in parliament. And I think she will not last,” he said.
“At the moment the people in the UK are in denial. The current economic situation is not as bad as was predicted and they live in hope. But as the currency depreciates, and inflation will be the driving force, this will lead to declining living standards.
“This is going to take some time, but when it does happen they’ll realise that they are earning less than before because wages won’t rise as fast as the cost of living.
“The divorce is going to take a very long time. It’s much harder to divorce than to get married, so I think the desire for rapprochement will develop, and in theory or maybe even in practice you could have a situation in 2019 or 2020 when Britain will leave the EU, because it does have to take place, but they could leave on a Friday but join over the weekend and have the new arrangement in place in Monday morning.”
Soros said he hoped both sides would realise they must find some common ground and find common ground to avoid a bitter divorce.
The future for Europe looked bleak, Soros said, after a disastrous 2016. Europe had become too complicated, leaving people alienated and anti-European parties gathering force.' |

People like him can make money whatever the situation, he just needs to decide which side to bet on. Its regular people who are going to get fucked over by Brexit and the Tories. Brexit plays right into their ideological hands, falling tax income means they can again slash at our public services, look at the disasters they have caused with the NHS, the prison service, social care, policing and education in just 7 years. We've got another 8 more years of them to come yet, and I think the UK will end up in a worse state than the US at this rate. |

The “impostor and con-man” left office last Friday. And May won't last long if she betrays the wishes of the people but as she's meeting Trump this week I doubt she'll do that even if the EU-loving Supreme Court tries to screw the wishes of the majority.
And looking at photos of Soros I think he'll be the one who doesn't last too long and given the arses he's clearly been licking I won't be sorry when he 'kicks the bucket'. |

Why not gates? Massive philanthropist, never really sought wealth it was a byproduct of his success?
You have a real chip against the rich, they aren't all bad are they?

Thats not quite true...
when Gates originally developed DOS for IBM he built so many bugs into that IBM gave it (dos) to him. To my mind that was a deliberate act of industrial espionage for personal gain and proves that Gates is no better than any other corrupt corporate CEO. |

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Money is power, you only need to look at the billions put into political lobbying to see that.... It's not personal though, I've got nothing against any of these people personally.
I don't like the philanthropy argument either, it's a strawman.
The British public as a whole give far more money to charitable causes than the billionaires do, if money was more equitable any short comings by the very wealthy would be made up by the whole giving more away due to having more |

Take gates as an example, I can't see him doing much wrong in the world, can you? (aside from natural resources to build computers....but it's a wash with efficiencies computers have given us) |

I don't see why people in this country even if they don't like Theresa May talk about calling a election we would be like the American voters one candidate is shit and so is the other one which shit do we pick?
The Tories would walk a election and May would still be in power no credible opposition. |

I've no idea what bill gates is like, I've seen him talk on a few lectures and that's it, that's all I know about him, he guards his personal life and his business life alot and lives in a half underground 150 million dollar complex that's reportedly guarded by 20 armed men, electric fences and dogs.... And I think I read he's building a 1.4 billion dollar yacht for his family of him his wife and three kids.... This I do not begrudge him nor do I wish to take it away from him.
