RIP one of the old school greats . He had great legs for stockings too . Mr & Mrs was never the same without him .

He was also very good at serious acting; As evidenced in the classic Sylvestor McCoy era Dr Who episode, The Curse Of Fenric (in which he was superb).

His mind was still sharp as a tack - he had to concentrate incredibly hard and be funny at the same time. People half his age would struggle with that. A life well lived - and part of my radio world since childhood.
