There's and online quiz you can do to find out. It's really interesting and often used in therapy for couples. |

Physical touch and quality time are right up there. I have the book out at the moment to re-read. There's also another book on attachment that's absolutely fascinating! |

I'd love to post my answers but I want a certain person to me tell me theirs first.
Intresting that most that have answered are quality time and physical touch! I was curious hence the post.

I'd heard about it but never actually found out what language best described me.
A bit surprisingly it's Quality Time closely followed (1 point difference) by Words of Affirmation and Physical Touch joint second. I did think language might be top but there you go. |

It *is* interesting that so many are time and touch.
I’m another, I had heard of the 5 before I opened this thread.
This is why the ones that say they can’t stay over (why would you not want morning sex?!) are never for me! I want tiiiiime! |

Physical touch which is quite surprising but I guess makes sense, in day to day life I'm not at all touchy freely yet with a partner I am quite affectionate that way. |

Love that!!
I actually wondered if most on here would be more physical touch and didn't expect quality time to be the feature.
Thought there might have been a few joke comments about acts of service thrown in though. |

I still think opposites attract and surveys like these create their own opposites whereas it's probably more basic in real life. A chance meeting of the planets and any 2 people that wouldn't normally like each other are just in that right moment that it works. They might learn to dislike each other but still stay together for some particular reason or another that overrules their heart and balances a love hate relationship.
On Fab these type of surveys likely mean less to the masses as a higher percentage of users are probably driven by more carnal desires  |

Agree with you. But it helped me understand a few things about my last relationship. He was an Acts of service and hardly scored on anything else. We did not speak in the same one at all.
Defo think on fab it's likely to apply but I was curious to see how many would come out Hugh on physical touch on here. |

Yes it’s a decent book we read together years ago and used when running a marriage course!!
I think the important thing is knowing yours and your partners, especially if they are different.
Ours haven't changed at all in 25 yrs - think these are hard wired at an early age - she’s words of affirmation ,He’s touch. If you have too even spread study again, if it’s a test do it super fast for best results you want one dominant one much higher than the others that’s your language

If your dominant language is touch , which many are, and you haven’t read this book or have good emotional intelligence , you may likely focus on giving affection to a partner using touch. Like asking if they want a massage, giving lots of hugs etc. Because it’s what you value most you might naturally assume it’s what they want but they might want surprise gifts if you to talk to them instead! |

That doesn't surprise me at all and quality time is one of the things that went wrong with my relationship with Beast. When we would meet but he would be sat there not listening but on his phone it would annoy me as we got so little time together anyway. |

Quality time can be hardest, to completely give your full attention to someone , no phone, no distractions, putting your agenda aside in conversation and really, really listening......but great rewards. Same with teenagers! |

It's called 'Attached' by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller. To me this is the fundamental stuff and then you get into the Venus/Mars and love languages. Crack that lot and wahay! |
