It is not about big celebrations with presents and lots of decorations, that is all commercialised to make profit, the real meaning is to be together and think of jesus and have a nice dinner, whats your view?

It's whatever you choose to make it, including nothing at all. For non Christians, Jesus isn't part of it at all.

Where would you like me?

I think Christmas *should* be about being true to you and doing you. If giving presents make you happy? Do it. Don't want to spend it with family? Don't. Do? Do.

I think people should discard the idea of an ideal Christmas and not make people feel bad for doing it their way. Whether that's celebrating or not. It's as unique as we are.

Christmas should mean exactly what the individual wants it to mean.

For me it is about spending time with the people who mean the most.

And presents for me is about showing my appreciation for them being in my life xx

This.

My family are predominantly Atheist, so Christmas is about spending time with family and the joy of giving gifts to people we love.

It’s a religious festival blown out of proportion by the commercial sector to make money. Just like Easter etc.

You don't have to succumb to commercial pressure though

Giving things freely

With no expectations

Presents could be

IOU time with you to have coffee

Its about things being reborn. New year... Out with the old in with the new. One year gone and one just started. Life in the future not the past

My thoughts for what they're worth are to not wait 12 months for Xmas to spend time with loved ones, family and buy/make little presents for people throughout the year

One year some friend, family member or yourself won't make the next Xmas

Things I love to give at Christmas

*my time

*my energy

*my kindness

*my friendship

& *my positive attitude

Things I don't do is spend money unnecessarily or compromise on my ideals regarding commercialism/consumerism

As long as everyone doesn't feel they have to not be themselves or do things that will ultimately make them unhappy then I believe it's very much what you want to make it!

This is so very very true! And very much found it out how many don't make it last year! Every day might be someone's last make it a great one!

We don’t, we are just saying what our view of it is.

Sorry to break it to you but it's mostly pagan, has little to do with Christianity in its origins. The date, the tree etc.

Its a great opportunity for good will either way

Central

It's a pre-Christian tradition, where people got together after the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere.

Christians in Europe adopted it and much of the pagan traditions, which perhaps made brainwashing them more palatable.

Can imagine that looking forward to better weather and more plentiful food was a good positive, whilst being cold.

Just like early Christians moved the day of rest to Sunday to get pagans on board

I (Luke) think of Jesus as little as possible.

As Meatloaf said, 2 out of 3 ain't bad! Family gathering, focus on a nice meal, jesus is not involved.
