I love to go for a walk first thing, get freezing cold where my toes are numb and my cheeks are crimson, then jump into a steaming hot shower when I get home.
I have a cousin whose birthday os boxing day. Every year we all gather at my aunty's to celebrate.
Its a huge family, people drop in and out through the day, we play games and admire Christmas presents and marvel at how the kids have grown.
At about 5 my aunty puts out chips and batches and chicken nuggets and everyone makes chip butties, the perfect antidote to the rich Christmas food. Of course she immediately follows up with a dozen homemade trifles where everyone has to have an enormous portion or they'll go to waste, which defeats the object of the chip butties but it's tradition, innit.
Sadly this year I'm having to swerve it which is a huge shame, but an elderly uncle with health issues and a baby born premature and still having a couple of issues really don't need me and my cold germs anywhere near them.
It's the first one I've not been to since 2002 and I'm gutted - it's normally the best part of Christmas for me! |

Go to the pub then to the football followed up by a curry with mates
I go throughout the season anyway but Boxing Day get together is a must do |

We always go for a walk at 10.30ish to the woods. They have a mock hunt (Yes, I know....boo, hiss) and it's lovely making a fuss of the dogs and bumping into people we know!
We're off to the pub later which is a new thing for us, now the children are older we can leave them.
Food wise it's all about the nibbles  |
