Who else is with me?
We spend 11 months trying to reduce our impact on the planet, then December we wrap things we didn't need in paper they don't require and spend money on food we don't really like ( we don't eat much turkey, sprouts, mince pies etc the rest of the year for a reason).
My background doesn't help. Raised a Jehovah's witness by my mum but my dad wasn't a witness, so Christmas was always a time of conflict. And I lost my father in autumn, so this year is especially hard. I could get excited if if was every four years, but it has never felt special. My brother feels the same, but are we alone?

You don't have to do it, it's not compulsory do your own thing and you can choose your own menu -
Beast does a vegetarian Christmas for his family. Some of my guests don't eat turkey so I've a choice of meats.

I wasn't brought up with Christmasses either, but I've learnt to embrace not the Christmas, but the time of year. People all seem a bit friendlier, there are lots of twinkly lights, supermarkets sell all sorts of weird crap that nobody would buy otherwise, and predictably, Daniel O'Donnell has a new album out. Only two of the above things are good. I celebrate "free time off with lots of booze and food that makes you fart" day. So, a very merry ftowlobaftmyf day to you all.  |

Nah i love it. Love buying gifts, love cooking the turkey (i eat sprouts every sunday) couldnt care less about the impact... can call me selfish but i do what i want not what makes the planet happy. |

I love it. I don't put loads of pressure on myself and I buy what I can afford. I haven't bought a single present this year and will only buy a couple of small gifts for my daughter when I get back home.
I eat and buy the food I like. Yes I probably do waste some food, but Christmas is about indulgence so I always like to have the fridge and cupboards full. Christmas for me is more about the time with people I love rather than gifts and showing off. I love all the Christmas decorations, festive food and Christmas movies and cosy nights in.  |
