After all washboard abs are fine but boring. All hard muscle and rib (probably) whereas dad bods offer so much more in the way of variety and comfort.
There is Superdad bod as my esteemed colleague has already mentioned. There's ex rugby dad bod, drinkers dad bod, Pizza dad bod, I can't help it, it just turned out like this dad bod and I'm sure with help we could find a whole host of others.
As the owner of a very resplendent ex rugby dad bod I feel its only fair to clarify the actual type.

Mrs here. Abs are gorgeous for looking only but for meeting it's dad bod. If I was page 3 material I'd go for abs but as I'm not, I dont.
You see gym fit blokes being offended for being rejected and slagging off women who have rejected them when they're nothing special, they don't realise we're just being realistic and gym fit is intimidating to some. |

Haha I don’t think he planned to morph into “dad bod” (he’d hate that phrase!!). He left the military not long after we met and apparently that’s what happens when you’re no longer running up hills with weight on your back every day! I actually kinda prefer him a bit more cuddly to be honest |
