I was doing some, cough, research, cough, about stuff, and came across this, sorry no pun intended, about fellatio.

Dunno Wishy. It's a bit complicated. I've changed my mind it is sort of sexual but not abusive......well .........not if you overlook the pointed stick up the nostril and the blood pouring into the river.....oh ..and the separating from mothers and uhmmmmm all the other stuff that goes on ...... not to mention the suggestion that women are evil and that the boys are being saved....and masculinised ermmmmmmm seems like a nice day out  |

well its banned now but for years as soon as a girl strated her periods she was a woman and married off and some was as young as 9 and 10
Utah was the last state that banned mormons from marrying girls under 16 and lots of child abusers what moving to utah and 'changing their religion' in order to legally have sex with children

its a real difficult one, whats acceptable is what your bought up to accept as right and wrong, if these pople have been doing this for hundreds of years and its all they know its acceptable to them
to us it seems very wrong as the thought of a man cumming in a 7 year old childs mouth makes me feel sick to be honest, but thats because thats how i was bought up and in England we are tought thats not acceptable

different cultures different norms.... its not so long ago that girls and boys were married off at 14.....before that it was 12
about 2500 years ago it was the done thing for greek boys to regularly take up with older greek men and recriational sex with women was considered quite immoral. i believe that there was a similar practice in the zulu nation untill the late 19th century.. |

It is really difficult but there are lots of examples where 'western society' imposes/interferes/challenges cultural practices in other countries....
female circumcision
forced marriage
rights of girls to education
womens rights to have access to contraception
legalising homosexuality
right to vote
abolition of death penalty etc etc
OK we dont bomb those countries but some countries/cultures do see it as western society 'imposing' its values. Western society tends to say it is protecting human rights.

Question to all the "its terrible "people...
What harm is being done?
Think before you leap to talk about child abuse and within the cultural context of this society...is pain being caused(as in fgM) Does it damage the children? Without the cultural and societal ideas we have , are the boys harmed in any way?
That should be our criteria for deciding if something is wrong, or simply different.

While we are at it, I'm sure I saw something on the telly last year some time about a tribe that has the young men initiated in man hood by having sex with the goat/donkey, and no it wasn't a porn channel.
There are many things we see wrong in other countries and I'm sure they see wrong in ours.
Education, Information and enlightenment is the only weapon we can use against; beliefs, cultural, religious, rituals etc.
The they may see that something is wrong based on rational thoughts and not "all ways done it, so..." |
