The coroner for the Amy Winehouse inquest, and others, Suzanne Greenaway has stood down as she was not qualified to hold that role.

She was only appointed by her husband ffs.

Should he be held liable for any additional costs incurred as a result?

makes no difference, she didnt have the required level of experience to do the job so never should have got it

an investigation is needed to see if this was disclosed and her employer (apparently her husband) knew of it. if so then yes he should be held acountable

You haven't got to have as many qualifications as you would think to be a coroner in this country, just a few years as a practicing solicitor or doctor will do....

she may have had other qualifications and as part of the selection agreed to attain the qualification in an agreed timescale...

in the absence of qualified people at the point in time...

NOTE: may

Thus not qualified to be a coroner in Britain, a fact her hubby would know, or indeed any inter_iewer would determine, indeed a pre-requisite.

I did say in the absence of other qualified candidates...

maybe it was agreed to select her with a caveat she get the additional within a specific timeline.

Yes. And he should be sacked, forthwith.

Nothing more than an excuse to waste even more public money having another inquest....that will end with the same conclusion, being that the evidence will be the same.

The qualification, to have had rights of audience for five years in an English court, is intended to make sure the person appointed is acquainted with the English legal system.

The Australian system is sufficiently different to make experience there not comparable.
