I have to say this is one thing that bugs me, it a bit like those plunger things that replaced the sink plug in the 80's now nowhere to be seen.

What was wrong with the old butterfly tin opener, I had one for over 20 years and the poor thing broke, well rusted away actually. So I bought a new style one, £9.99, absolute crap, took about 30 attempts to get the tin open leaving a jagged edge Jaws would be proud of and I cut myself in the process.

I took it back, apparently the new ones are safer, because they crimp the metal inwards. Yes so far inwards that 10th of the way round the cutter misses.

Anyway I got my money back and bought a Tesco value one for about 50p. does the job fine, it a butterfly one, it's 2 years old.

If it aint broke, don't fix it.

If its the Bay Frentos one you need one of the simple metal butterfly type openers...;-)
