I think Toby Carveries are the BEES BOLLOCKS... and no mixing my metaphors!
If you want haute cuisine don't go. If you want the biggest Sunday Roast you can pile on your plate with all the trimmings it's perfect.
They do a bloody wonderful breakfast too xx

We love going!..pile your plate up and watch the disaproving looks from the people who eat like a small bird.
Theres another chain near us, cant remember the name, but its £3.50 all you can eat on weekdays.

like someothers have said, if you like lots of sunday dinner then its a good place to go. its nothing fancy but if you want a sunday dinner then its pretty god |

If you go to moneysavingexpert website (the martin lewis one) you can print off vouchers for crown carvery. Right i need to get out of bed and dressed or the crosspool will run out of yorkies!  |

I have to be honest, I don't like them. I like my roasties crispy, they are soggy, I also like my veg cooked and not half cooked so I am crunching on the cauli.
The other thing that puts me off is how high others pile their plate, surely they don't eat that much at home? and if so, how do they not get to be the size of a house?? !! |

Out of all the nice and posh restraunts ive been to i love toby carvery. Its my favourite place to eat. Ive only ever had the carvery dont know if they do anything else. None near us unfortunatly.
Going for a carvery today and the place is nice but not as nice as toby. Used to take callum loads when he ws little i love to see kids eating a proper decent meal that probley costs less than a macdonalds |

I am not a fan of the Sunday roast, as I like my roast beef rare and lamb pink, and not many places will serve them like that nowadays as it is considered as health risk.

As an ex-Hotel manager, I know the Toby "brand" and still have friends and ex-colleagues working for them.
It has a good reputation and name, is very popular and offers excellent quality.
OK, they aren't to everyone's liking, but then no restaurant or pub chain can please everyone, all the time. |

I think it depends on the actual place.... As I've been to one where the food was lovely.. I find its better if its a bit busy or the food can get a bit over done...
Ours the roast potatoes are about the best... But I do prefer the crown one...

Toby beats cooking a roast for two any day in my book! not a fan of Crown though, as Toby veg is much nicer.....think we may have to go there today, for further research only of course  |

cant beat the Toby for the Carvery's and at about £7 a head you cant moan... as long as you get the right time of the day, the food is always nice... but i think it should be the other way round.. a selection of 3 veg, and all you can eat meat

If you ever come to Gloucester, its the kind of place one normally goes through, visit the pub I work in as we even do blue if you really want uncooked raw food
The downside is that meat has gone up quite a lot so they have been outsourcing and bought stuff that unfortunately is very tough and can only be cooked medium, anything beyond that and its not fit for animal consumption never mind about human  |
