Fairly niche question this but we're an inclusive bunch!

I'm considering buying a new frame as my old one is, to put it bluntly, old as fuck. We're talking "classic" 80s Raleigh kind of old. I just want to get back out on the roll and the old Raleigh is a bit long.

I'm looking for something super cheap as I don't have the time to ride it enough to justify spending loads. Ideally not steel, so Aluminium or Carbon. Carbon forks for certain.

Any reviews, recommendations or suggestions?

Cheers

Giant do a great range of hybrid bikes for the road, I got the Rapid 1 back in 2014, it’s so light and extremely fast, ideal for long commutes to work which is what I mainly use it for.

Errr, hybrid... Never been keen if I'm honest!

Current favourite possibility is the Planet X Pro Carbon for 250 notes...

Felt although Make sure you get decent wheels as some stock wheels are shoddy.

I've bought several frames from ribblecycles. They've got some great deals. There's also loads on ebay too.

As you say super cheap that rules out a carbon frame. Don't be tempted to buy foreign imported frames that pretend to be something else as they've been proven to break or snap.

A good aluminium frame but I have recently got a steel one, yes it's heavier but absorbs the road a lot better and so much more comfortable.

Buy the best frame your money allows you
