I agree, there is no call to be cruel to anyone. I hope if i every say anything that is taken a cruel i would be pulled up on it. I know it can be hard to get across a point sometimes without people taking it the wrong way. would never set out to be cruel or malicious to anyone, if i have nothing constructive to say, its better to say nout |

I am never cruel for the sake of it or nasty or make snide comments and I don't take the piss out of people for a laugh. Sometimes I get a little passionate about subjects and I will put my point forward, but I don't get any enjoyment out of belittling anyone. I have seen it on the forums and have challenged it at times.  |

I always say that I don't "do" nice.
I am one of the sarkiest, cheekiest gits that I know (see, I am not naming and shaming soapy, wishy or kev)!!!
However, whatever I say, either on here, on phone or face to face is NEVER said with any malicious intent.

Hey, I got a tough skin, and I pretty much like to amble my merry little way along and not take life too seriously at all (apart from the politics threads which I particularly enjoy )
I watch a lot of space type stuff on TV and it a sure fire way of realising just how insignificant this little ball of ours is, but it is OUR ball and we all gotta share it.
I think we've all learned something during the last 48 hours on here. |

just seems to be a lot of unhappy people lately.
moaning about everything including single guys.
no matter who it is people have feelings and things going on away from the site which can be difficult at the best of times.
you come here for a laugh and to try and perk yourself up and all you see is bashing from people who dont really know you at all.
i really feel for people who have serious problems and are trying to cope.
for some this place is the only thing which keeps them going. |

I can honestly say that when i lost very close people last year, i was astounded at peoples generosity and offers of a shoulder to cry on.
Without that caring aspect from those in the forums, i would have found it very hard to cope.
I would come on and try and forget and have a smile at something or other.
Most of us in here know how great people can be ..and i know that at times it can get a little confrontational.
But on the whole...it aint a bad place to be |

I suppose in most cases, it is ignorance on the part of the people who come out and say what they do!
People stereotype others who don't fit the "norm", or who don't fit their perception of what everyone should be like, in their own eyes.
A recent case in my neighbourhood late last year showed up this prejudice; a local guy was going through hell, as locals, for no reason, started calling him a "paedo". Problem was, he had some learning difficulties, had a lower mental age than normal, still dressed a bit shabbily, and wore really thick glasses.
Yet, people wrongly _iewed him in their warped little minds; it was resolved in the long run, thanks to some more liberally minded people who supported him and the local Police took a firm hand with the idiots. |
