That's the Larson '4 personality types' cartoon.

4 panels, each with a different person reacting to a half full/empty glass of water.

Person 1: This glass is half full!

Person 2: This glass is half empty!

Person 3: Gee... I just can't decide... I might be half full or it might be half empty?

Person 4: HEY! I ORDERED COFFEE!

The logical side of me says that the glass is always full, even if it's half drink, half air...

But the cost management side of me simply says that the glass is twice as big as it needs to be!

"For me its a on person down on there luck and Half full there is hope."

The old optimist or pessimist theory ?

I'm a "Who cares?' Type as it's only got a half in it because of me drinking the rest.

Also, if the glass was rolling on a treadmill that exactly matched its speed.....

No, don't even think about it

it means are you optimistic or pessimistic.

if you see a glass as half full then you see it's got something in it, if half empty then you see there's something missing.

so people look at the same thing but can see something different, depends how you view it.

Where would you like me?

I hate this idiom. It's tired, clichéd and suggests there are two patterns of thought - optimism and pessimism. It's not an accurate measure just a frequently rolled out attempt at ab initio psychology discounting those who are not neurotypical.

Sorry OP, I'm not sure whether you actually want a serious answer

On the rare occasions when I start to feel my glass is nearly empty, I remind myself I'm lucky to *have* a glass.
