Don't try and push into a tin with the lid pointing upwards, otherwise it will cut into your finger(s) if you slip.
Ouch, and it is still bleeding nearly 30min later!!!  |

Ouch - sounds painful.
On a serious note, you should always remove the tops of tins fully because foxes have a nasty habit of attacking bin bags and sticking their noses inside tin cans with half-removed lids. When they try to remove their noses from the tin, they get stuck and it cuts them very badly. |

Not a chance as the recycling bin is kept behind the gate by the garage, and inaccessible by anyone/thing except cats, and the neighbourhood cats are far too snooty to eat out of them! |

Heh, aristocats, eh?
I recycle my tin cans but some of my neighbours don't, and as we've still got the blue bin bags rather than a wheelie bin, it means the foxes all come into my street to play on a Sunday night. They make a right mess  |

Jaysus we have three different coloured wheelie bins plus a green box for glass. All tin cans have to be rinsed clean and squashed flat. Animals need not fear... and if we dared to put anything in a bin bag or in the wrong bin we would be publicly flogged then fined 1000 quid. Ok the flogging might be a fib but I once left a piece of plastic inside some cardboard in the blue bin and they refused to empty it and put a big threatening sticker on the lid warning me of the errors of my ways.....

Don't remove the label from a corned beef can when opening - the paper wrapping around inside the coil of tin as you wind stabilises the metal and stops it slipping from the key which usually ends up causing a gash.... |
