The Idiots, Breaking the Waves, Dogville and Dancer in the Dark are all excellent films. Not sure you've given him the best of chances judging him on his later films.
OP, you needed to watch them in order for it to make sense. It's a continuation, it's part 2 of the collection - not the second in a series. |

His earlier films weren't graphic in the same sense. Dancer in the Dark was very good and it still sticks in my mind. It's the polar opposite of Antichrist though. |

The Idiots and Breaking the waves were great also loved both parts of Nymphomaniac but Dogville was just a very frustrating film. It was nothing to do with the stage set up as soon see past that, it just seemed to lack substance.

The Idiots and Breaking the waves were great also loved both parts of Nymphomaniac but Dogville was just a very frustrating film. It was nothing to do with the stage set up as soon see past that, it just seemed to lack substance.
