So, you're at work or out and about with friends. Basically, you're stuck with this group of people. What's the one subject that always seems to come up that's guaranteed to quickly bore you to death or have you glazing over when people start talking about it?

For me it has to be mobile phones. Why are people so interested in them?! Some people just talk about them all the friggin' time! I just don't get it

I used to work at Glow Worm as a spot welder, there was a foundry there as well. A few of us used to go out on a Friday night and one chap from the foundry would always talk about work. One night one of the lads said to him "Oi, will yer shurrup, we can't get to the bar for all those castings in the way"

If it's a meet from here, then if they just talk about their job and how much they earn my eyes tend to glaze over.

"anyone talking about their health, either good or bad."

Old people are always banging on about their health. To some it's the only thing they seem to talk about.

I'm a bit like that. I don't keep up with modern stuff generally so I often feel left out.

Also a bloke that used to go to our local would wait til someone had related a story about something they'd done, then claim that he or someone else he knew had done it as well, usually better or faster....yawn

He never thought of anything original to say himself

Titz Towers, North Notts

People who live their lives through their kids. Also a friend of mine who gets involved in epic shindies with everyone and anyone. He bores me to tears with them, as I just can't get that interested in the leader of the council's reply to his tweet about disruption caused by a new tram system....

Central

Most topics can bore when the participants have limited self-awareness and don't keep things brief and light. Or don't have the sensitivity to know that others' opinions are equally valid.

Bores.

One upmanship.

Goods and money. Cars.

Kids. Partners af nauseum.

London and France

Their children

Their health

Their latest diet

Their latest ( always bollocks) health fad

Telling me how to live my life.

Bombarding me with their ideas, in the hope that I might reform myself ( usually Vegans and vegetarians). Vegans are the worst nazis for this.
