I think the site was in its prime 5 years ago these days it's just the same old faces and the members online is starting to dip
Should the site be a subscription ?
Would it cut down on fakes ?
Would it help if single males paid only and it was free for couples and single females who could only join with proper verification ? |

No, it would be worse ( and would include fakes inserted by the site owners - as happens frequently on another site, to keep people interested)

No: it would make little difference to the idiot single males, who would have an even greater sense of entitlement ( " I have paid, so I am owed a shag")
And genuine single makes would leave.
The site would have a much higher proportion of " fake" single women and " fake" couples. ( men pretending to be women and couples)
If you don't like this site, leave it and join one of those " fantastic"  pay sites |

 exactly this. I have personal peaks and throughs on here and although I've only been here about 18 months even I at times find myself thinking 'Fab isn't what it used to be'.
Then the next day something great will happen and I'll love it again.
I find it isn't the site itself that changes my opinion of whether it's all it ever was any more - it's my own mood and actions (and proactivity etc) that determines how good the site actually is.
This week just passed for example - great week!
Next week, who knows?  |

I've only seen an increase in members online since I've been around for the last 7 years
Same old faces are easy to ignore as there are so many other faces to pick |

Don't know about how it is for single guys, but for us (as a couple) joining a couple of years ago it has kept on getting better.
Perhaps some of the single guys telling their mates how awesome fab and they should join has changed the balance for them! I'm guessing for single women it's getting better and better as they can be choosier and choosier! |

Fab can be as shallow as a puddle or as deep as the ocean...Some people splash around in wellies while others don scuba gear and dive in deep. I wish all the naysayers and moaners would just fuck off to these 'better sites' and leave those that are happy with their lot to swim or splash in peace. |

I've been using fab for about 5 or so years.
Back then people replied to messages and you cold chat with others even if you were not going to meet
Now that's all gone. Your lucky if you get a reply these days let alone chat.
It's a shame that people have to be ass holes when they are turned down. But that life on fab now
I have left before but come back to can't with friends and try to make new friends.

I've been on here for about 5 years all in & I have to say that for me, it's the best it's been. There are a good few really lovely people that I've met in the last few months. There might be more bitching than there used to be (from my perspective) but the overall experience is better.

Yeah that covers it for me too... I look at the good old days through my rose tinted specs and remember less bitching, more tolerance and I dare say it was probably just that I noticed it less cause I was having serious amounts of fun. Now I'm older and wiser and meeting less (read never) and it all seems a little harsh in the forums these days.
However, it's the same elsewhere. Making people pay a hefty fee makes no odds to the number of no shows, timewasters and fakes.
You get out what you put in and that's never changed the ten years I've been here. Follow your instincts and you can't go far wrong. |

I've been on and off fab for about 8 years and I can honestly say that i've found things to be getting better and better. Current having more fun and enjoyment on fab than I have done in years.
Can't say if it's down to a change in myself, the site, the people on it or all of the above.
All I know is that it's working for me, and long may it continue |

Paying a monthly or yearly subscription wont make any difference. We've been on plenty of pay sites (still on one) and people still moan about the same problems on those.

I like Fab but it's like everything else in this life you have to work at it, I've truly met some lovely people from this site and couldn't see me using anything else to be honest, from reading in this thread it's seems all of them have pros and cons, the only thing I will say is i wish some of the recommendations that people put forward for the site to be improved were actually implemented, stupid little things like East Anglia is missing from the location etc. Etc. |
