Utterly implausible, but great acting. An Oscar winner for Di Caprio

Yep. Total snoozefest apart from the bear scene.

Yep saw it last weekend. A couple of good performances and great cinematography. But... I think I should have seen Hateful 8 instead!

More of a legend that grew up around a man called Glass who apparently survived a bear attack.

There's lots of different variants on the story which is true for any western/frontier tale. But the first written account was only a few months after Glass' arrival at Fort Atkinson. The generally agreed upon truths of the story are thought to be the ones with the most variation and they aren't that far away from the film - barring the revenge elements.

Based on true events allegedly, they do say fact is stranger than fiction.

Will see it today.

"Heard somewhere that it is a remake of a Richard Harris film"

Yes, Man in The Wilderness.

Which bombed, but Harris put that down to that lack of publicity rather than the film itself. He thought it was one of his best films.

I thought The Revenant was about 40 minutes too long, that the director was a little self-indulgent with the filming and scenery, and it was a typical American 'true story' film. It was good, but not great. Hateful Eight is better.

Hateful Eight tomorrow!

Only £4.99 for tickets at my local cinema. Always empty too as people too snobby to go.
