I am not bothered as long as they don't stink to high heaven of smoke and the smokers we have met didn't reek, but then they were also very clean men who had obviously changed their clothes etc before we met.
Mr R has tried to stop smoking three times and is still struggling, and I can understand why as it isn't the easiet thing to do....but he doesn't stink of smoke, but then he has got OCD.  |

I think some smokers attract the smell more then others I find. I know some smokers who don't smell and others that do smell of smoke.
But I do remember something someone told me that ran a club when the smoking ban came in he said the club that would smell of smoke then smelt of bo and piss and worse smells then smoke. |

I like me rollies, proper ciggies give ma headache but I do have them sometimes if I'm out just coz I'm too lazy to roll em  And they're mega expensive! I don't think I could afford proper ones anymore, I'd have to give up my poker vodka and sambuca. Sod that! |

i have never smoked havent even tried it .... but i would never not meet anyone cause they do ... i always tell that person that i dont so then they dont light up two mins before i meet them ... cause kissin someone just after they have had a fag is just ewwwwww .... |

we both gave up smoking last year. Tra still loves the smell of it and misses it whereas I hate it and have come pretty close to berating people in the street! I have turned into the person I spent 30 years telling to fuck off.

I sat down to have a fag and found this post. Im not really proud of the fact that i smoke 50+ a day. Its the next thing on my exercise regime that i really must address. Thankfully it costs me nothing to smoke as i smoke roll ups unless im out and it comes from belguim and jay pays for it so its not the cost that im concerned about but i really do have the addiction bad |

hey I smoke. I state on my profile I smoke. I will even meet non smokers am not prejudice. But then in saying that as someone has pointed out on here. People will change their status and view from not wanting to meet smokers to all of a sudden they will. Hence the bit on my profile which is very true. Some one got in touch asking to meet. I pointed out that I smoke and they dont meet non smokers. They replied they would meet me if I was considerate. I wrote back telling them just how considerate a smoker I was and they never got back to me....oh what a shame.
So do I give a flying fart over others and my smoking. No I dont, dont come by me if you dont like the way I smell. I dont care. I wont impose my smoking on you and please dont impose your fresh air on me. |

I like smoking, its great. I know others don't but I like to smoke. I won't smoke round someone who doesn't like it but at home I like to smoke and it is my house.

The smoking ban has been great for my health.....
I stopped going down the pub and I don't drink at home
Whilst I think cut price booze has had some impact on the pub trade I think that it worked in combination with the smoking ban to ruin the pub culture.
I do remember the arguments prior to the ban where some non smokers promised that once they could breath and didnt come home stinking of smoke they would go down the pub. Unfortunately that didn't happen. It was totally foreseeable as well. Witherspoons (the pub chain) banned smoking some 18 months or so before the actual ban and they posted a 13% drop in profits because of it whilst other chains were posting profits.
The french system is so much better. In bars where there are employees smoking is banned. Where the bar is tun by the owner and his family smoking is allowed (if they wish it). Guess which bars are full? |

have also noticed a huge down turn in trade in the taxi world which was directly a result of the smoking ban...seems the majority of people that actually used pubs were smokers and to this day i still believe its the same when fequenting pubs its def the majority of people inside that go outside for a smoke leavin 1 or 2 non smokers inside ....the biggest problem for pubs now is more and more smokers are now just sittin in houses with their drink n ciggies especially during winter months because they dont really want to go outside to smoke |
