Yusssssss

To quote from the Telegraph .....

The phrase "Find a pin and pick it up," the first line of a poem in "The Real Mother Goose" book of nursery rhymes is now misquoted as "Find a penny pick it up".

Unquote

The phrase is amongst the top 10 misquoted apparently.

It goes.....

See a pin and pick it up - all day long you'll have good luck.

See a pin and let it lay - bad luck you will have all day.

Pin: safety?

Pin: pin board?

Straight pins ..... well before safety pins existed.

Pins were worth money and could be sold.

Soon you got more for your pins as the price of metal increased and hence the word 'pin money' when using the surplus left over....
