Any _iews from people who've used it?

We're not entirely convinced by the flatness of it yet but we're sure we'll get used to it.

It's certainly a big, brave change.

I'm finding the whiteness of it a bit strange and also thought I had lost apps until I realised that I now have 2 boxes to store them and not 1. Loving the block feature , it's about time they did that. Have lost my favourite ring tone as well and can't figure out why. As for all the teckie stuff I will leave that to those that know it cos I don't have a clue

After I figured out what the new features are I liked it (posted a URL on the other thread)

I like the fact that reminders have a geolocation flag (never noticed it before so assume its new).

I like the safari mult page selector and it took a while to try and figure out how to delete the apps in memory (swipe upwards)

To be honest I haven't found any new feature that I will find useful yet. To be fair, i haven't played with it much yet though. I don't like the new design theme either.

I have seen a couple of people say they find it faster. I actually get the impression of it being sluggish.

Reply privately, Reply in forum +quote or View forums list

By *cottishrichMan  over a year ago

Definitely not sluggish but can't honestly say I've found it noticably quicker either. I quite like the new design, have changed both my wallpapers too and it feels like a completely new phone. I like the swipe up for control centre and adding the inbuilt torch app was well overdue.

I was contemplating getting a 5S but for the sake of the fingerprint unlock and a slightly better camera, I'm not sure I'm going to bother anymore.

Really like it smoother feels more intuitive, love the block number feature and safari is nice, like the text time stamp as well

You could do that before, when it said "reader" in the address bar. Still, it's a handy feature.

Got it on my iPad and can't say I'm entirely enamoured with it. It looks nasty and there's an issue with image sizing for wallpapers that I'm hoping they'll address very quickly !

The "zooming" when opening an app/going back to home screen we don't like. Makes us feel travel sick! Can it be turned off?

Swipe from left to right on a web page and it goes back a page

You need to do quite a deliberate swipe right from the edge of the screen, a half arsed swipe won't do it. You can go forward by swiping right to left too.

I agree that it looks a bit odd on the iPad but then again my housemate has set the wallpaper as a giant Man U badge, so it was always going to look crap.

I have had to change the wallpaper and lock screen on my phone cause the sizes were strange but I'm glad I did, it feels like a new phone now, I really like it.

I like it...... one tiny bugbear.. you now have to download their podcasts app to get any of them to now work, whereas before it was a subsection of the music folders

Actually had more issued with downloading the new version of itunes in that it unsubscribed all the podcasts so had to redo that

If you go into settings, general, background app refresh. you can turn them off to save battery which seems to be helping with mine.

Some awesome tips on here. Was puzzled the same on how to cancel apps and delete texts.

The tip on going back through web pages is my favourite

Phone updated quickly but my iPad2 has hung with the apple sign and a white line underneath for about 14 hours, dont know how to resolve with restoring it which will lose tons of pics Can anyone help? X

I'm not impressed with the design my first reaction was it was designed by a 2 year old. I haven't had a play with it yet though only seen it on a clients phone. Think I'll stick with 6 for while longer

Cheap, tacky childish looking, reminds me of the old Samsung android my daughter had, awful, like the private browsing but then couldn't work out how to get back to normal browsing. I wanted to move the face time icon into utilities but it doesn't let you. And I cannot work out how to close apps like we could before holding the little button down as that didn't work

The only things I really liked was the way when you put your pin code in, all the apps 'fly' in which reminds me of something one can do on Powerpoint and the fact that you can now block numbers.

Overall, I just think if there is another upgrade, if it stays with this tackiness look, I shall pass

I love it apart from the look. It's smooth and so much quicker.

There is one new feature I am sure will benefit lots of users on here. You can now block numbers. No more nuisance ppi calls

Looks a lot better now I have a decen wallpaper

The static one with the starts and a sort of constellation cloud bottom right brings out the folder contrast quite well

Just deciding whether to turn the parallax _iew off as it is quite disconcerting when you move the phone from side to side (the icons shift on the background)

I like the parallax effect, I've got a pic of kaley cuocco as my wallpaper at the moment and when I move the phone her boobs pop out from behind the folders

does it allow true multi tasking yet, I mean switch from 1 app to another and maybe to another without having to shut down the other apps? because that's the one thing I hate about this iphone. could open as many apps as I wanted at once with my s2. just want to know if it's worth downloading yet, seen it on my dads ipad and ipod but not seen it on an iphone yet

I'd already turned off the ability to open the notification and control centres from the lock screen anyway, I don't even like that you can get into the camera without the password.

Top tip: Anyone struggling reading the super fine iOS 7 system font Helvetica Neue Medium can make it bold by going into settings/accessibility/ and activating 'bold text'. (This will cause a soft reboot of your phone)

I love it personally, the new feature I use most is the short cuts panel you slide up from the bottom as I'm always turning wifi on and off while testing stuff for work. It was always an ass on gong into settings to do it, now it's a swipe and a tap away.
