Toasty Loaves

Tonight we fancied a couple of slices of toast, nothing wrong there except that there was no bread in the house, so we nipped out to the CO-OP and bought a Warburtons Toasty Loaf - specially made for toasting.

On our kitchen bench there is a brand spanking new Breville toaster for which we paid nearly 40 quid

So far so good

So why the F*$K does a toasty loaf not fit into a standard bloody toaster ? What a silly idea. 90% of the slice gets toasted and in order to toast the other 10%, the slice needs to be turned upside down, thus burning the 90% which had already been done

How stupid is that a toasty loaf which will not fit a standard toaster !!!

This has been annoying me for bloody ages but i've never had anyone to vent my anger with! It's getting hard work to find any sodding bread which fits in my toaster now without having to tuck the fucking edges in. Grrr.

ours is a 4 slice toaster with no dividers so we just stick the bread in on its side.

miss not having a gas grill when it comes to toast though.

Extra thick crumpets are the same - you stick them in a standard toaster and after a zillion minutes it clicks to say it's done but guess what? - no fookin crumpets! They've superglued themselves to the inside of the feckin toaster forcing you to try and lever them out with a knife - after you've switched the mains off of course, then, THEN! - you manage to pry half the feckin thing out leaving the other half of it in tatters still inside the toaster! grrrr....

Now were talkin' REAL toast - mind you, I must have been a posh kid because I used an extendable toasting fork, not a stick lol ...
