Hate to say it but Bono has penned a lot of very good tunes and a lot you wouldn't know he had written for other artists. Gary Barlow likewise. And I've always liked to stuff Paul Heaton has done. |

I remember hearing 'Lola' for the first time and thinking 'how innovative and controversial' making you understand another perspective of alternative lifestyles. As with a lot of his songs it is in the narrative and the story is put together so well. |

Even is all Christy Moore had written was Viva la Quinte Brigada, that'd be enough to put him in the top flight. |

Fully accept all criticism re. my remarks about Christy. I have a copy of Graffiti Tungue and it's one of my fave CDs. Rory is Gone, etc. etc.

Chris and Glenn would pen the lyrics and melody in a matter of minutes, once Glenn had an inkling of a melody Chris would be there with the lyrics in the blink of an eye.

Someone who I think is incredibly underrated/unknown is mike Rosenberg (more commonly known as Passenger). Beautiful voice, and brilliant lyrics. I recommend any and all of his songs. Thank me later. |

Yep...and coming from that area myself I listen to their lyrics and think 'yep..been there' 'done that'..'nkow that type of person' and those streets...the pair of them are very talented, and nice fellas with it...Chris seems is the more grounded of the two though |
