Big rocks! Find a stream with big rocks next to it and batter your smalls off them! Failing that, just buy new skivvies,

It would be a bit redundant anyway! If washing machines haven't been invented yet, why have a launderette?

My Gran used to have a Dolly and Tub. She used to give the washing a right bashing.

The washing came out of the tub and then through the mangle a couple of times and then it was hung on the line.

Granny had arms like Arnie

Do you know someone with epilepsy?

Run them a bath, once they're in it run into the bathroom and turn the lights on and off quickly and then throw your washing in the bath with them!

(quite obviously a joke)

That Wizz stuff you get from Home Bargains is brill for stains and marks on stuff. I've handwashed shirts with blood on them after blood tests and they didn't need the machine.

Me mam used to swear by handwashing. She used to soak things a bit in hot water with the powder in it before mashing it to a pulp. She used a little scrubbing brush too on cotton where it wouldnt damage materials.

Wouldn't give up her twin tub till me and Dad seized it and took it to the tip.

Do it the way the Romans used to do it : get somebody else to do it!

Or have your butler do it for you. I have a maid myself. A man needs a maid

Remember mine breaking down when the kids were little. Filled the bath with hot water, chucked soap power and clothes in and pretended I was squashing grapes

Brilliant till it came to rinsing and wringing them out
