When I really fancy someone I keep total eye contact, go silent (I know you wouldn’t imagine I could shut up at all would you?  ) and curl my hair.
It’s totally inbuilt. It happens like that rarely but it does happen. I think it’s my inner Littlebird coming out  |

True story:
Back in the olden days. In a crowded New York bar.
Our eyes met across the crowded, smoky room. I made my way over to him slowly. When I was next to him, he had to lean down for me to whisper in his ear.
I said: “Wanna fuck?”
He got his coat. Came home with me on the subway. Stayed for a few days.
(Hell, maybe I should go back where the fuck I came from?)  |

My eyes soften, I sort of "take in" their whole body, I develop a softer smile, and my nostrils flare as I do a slow, deep breath in that turns into a really content and slower out-breath/sigh.
Then I can't take my eyes away from their eyes, if they're getting similar feelings.
And if they're not, I bring my breath back to normal, focus on the room and think "oh well, it can't always be what you wanted it to be".
And if they are sharing similar feelings through their body language, particularly their eyes, the rest just seems to happen, because those first few moments have already written the beginnings of a new and entirely wordless book. |
