Manchester-ish

And all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring except...

The four assholes coming in the rear in standard two-by-two cover formation.

Is the only version of this rhyme that lives in my brain.

Which parts of classic literature have been replaced by popular culture in your brain dear reader? Bonus points if it is festive.

I wouldn't call it classical literature, but my kids sing "last Christmas I gave you my heart and the very next day you sold it on eBay". Massively annoying.

It's definitely part of the Christmas cannon.

We've had the same for years

I suppose kids these days don't know who Kojak is so him losing his lollipop is irrelevant.

Carlisle usually

I never took a lot of interest in the classics, to the point that the popular culture bastardisations live in my mind as if they were the original.

Poor Batman. Despite being Bruce Wayne (spoilers) and super mega rich (far richer than Jeff Bezos many times over) he still manages to stink!

"Jingle Bells, Batman smells."

And Robin flew away, but what did Kojak do when he lost his lollipop? There's too many versions, I feel we need to nail down the definitive version here, today!

I think this is my 'problem' too, although it is happening with pop culture too. The vastly superior Family Guy star wars parodies have replaced the original Star Wars trilogy in my brain.

It's all that PVC stuff he wears. Gets pretty hot no doubt.

"It's good to be heckling again!" was never in the original. But it should've been. That and "Light the lamp, not the rat!"
