When you send a nice message to a lady and you get a reply with a simple Hiya.
Is that a I dont want to be rude and not respond but take this as a hint.
Or a Hiya please engage in more chat?

It means she's juggling 25 messages and the others are mildly boring but entertaining enough. She couldn't think of anything contained in your message by the time she hit reply as she had to get back to someone else so wrote, Hi and got back to her chats. |

Tbh I'd probably ask her that question rather than the forum population.
Given the frequency of people moaning that they never get responses to messages at all I'd take it as a strong hint to reply back.
