Did not want a new cooker as they are tin crap so went miles for a good second had Smeg ( fnar fnar) combination cooker .

It obviously was allergic to turkey as it blew the trip , took the back off the cooker and all the insulation and terminal protector sleeves have gone brittle , basically it's fooked ,

At least the hob is gas , the ham was precooked and I boiled then deep fried the spuds .

Stupid name for a stupid cooker , Bah !!

Yes, I have since found two others who cookers went AWOL today .

Odd as it had been working fine until now , probably Sod's law and all that

You have my sympathies. Happened to me 2 xmas in a row a few years back (perils of going 2nd hand), had to get someone else to cook the turkey for me and everything else went in the pan or under the grill.

Was the telly that packed in this year, watching the portable today, just as well the sales are here!!!
