Somewhere In The Ether…

I was walking around my house earlier and noticed that one of my windows looked absolutely filthy.

Immediately disgusted by this, I tried cleaning it on the inside but sadly to no effect whatsoever.

I subsequently opted to clean it from the outside therefore but again - absolutely no joy.

I literally cannot see out of it as it’s semi opaque and I’ve now tried Windolene, citrus juice and even washing up liquid with a blade but still no effect!

It’s almost as though looking through ice on a pond

Can anyone help me out with some tips please?

By the way, the window is to my upstairs bathroom.

Funnily enough, my neighbour appears to be suffering the exact same issue as a window in his house which directly overlooks me appears to be similarly stricken….

Are you sure you aren't mistaking a part of a wall for a window?

Probably a defect in the double glazing. Your going to need to get a glazer to investigate.

Maybe, just maybe it’s a frosted window. Because it’s a bathroom. That’s usually the norm.

Sounds like the glazing is shot and condensation is trapped between? Easily replaced

Better get a glazier on it, and buy a bright bulb for your bathroom while you're at it.

Sounds like the double glazed unit has broken down and mists up inside leaving a residue

Lifes Departure Lounge NN9 .Northamptonshire.

If it is a double glazed window the seal betwee the two panes of glass has broken down and what you have is condensation on the inside of the glass,

New window panel i'm afraid.
