After reading all the stories abd anecdotes people from all over have been sharing about Taylor Hawkins I thought about how sad it was that we don't celebrate life enough and the people living it....

So, is there anyone you would you like to celebrate and pay tribute too? Anything you want to share? Can be anyone but they have to be alive, doesn't have to be human, it can be a pet. Anyone you like.

The man at the gym with prosthetic legs.

I’ve never spoke to him and don’t know his name but whenever I’m having a can’t believe arsed day he inspires me to go 110%.

My parents, who I never told how much I loved them and was grateful for everything they did for me, long before they passed away.

My grandfather (mums father). During World War 2 he was in the Royal Navy and exported convoys between Derry and Boston. He lived until he was 86, saw his wife die at 55, his oldest daughter at 43 and his oldest son at 46.Despite all the adversity and heartbreak he endured in his life he never became embittered, his faith was unshakeable until his last breath. He was, is and always will be my hero.

He has no idea. He’s in there everyday hitting the punchbag and lifting heavy and it just puts things into perspective. If he can do that without complaining there’s no excuse for me to be lazy.

My hero is my daughter in law...she suffers from Ehlers Danlos and some days she is in so much pain she can barely move, she is prone to dislocating bones and when it happens she just pops herself back into place, but she smiles all through and she is always of the mindset that there are others out there worse off.

She started her own dog walking business 3 years ago at 21 now she is an approved Puppy School instructor and teaches Hoopers as well as competes with her own dog, she runs training classes for problem dogs, specialising in disabled clients and wrote her first book over lockdown.

Small and mighty like Persil yet has the biggest bollox than any man I know, she organises my son and he adores her, as do I

My boy is also a hero, he supported her in her dreams and continues to support her, he took a 2nd job to help pay the mortgage when she decided she wanted to run her own business and their income dropped

They are a great team and her hard work is paying off for them both now

Sorry if I’ve worded this wrong but it’s always the people that don’t get it easy in life that manage to inspire us.

How they can just get their heads down and get on with things when most of us would give up is amazing.

I like to think I’m pretty strong willed but I couldn’t do anything like that.

One of my managers at work.

I suffered a heart attack last year and was immediately put into ICU. This meant I had nothing with me but a phone running out of charge.

She literally turned up with clothes, food and most importantly a phone charger. All bought from the supermarket and deposited with a nurse.

She offered to pick me up afterwards and ensured everything was sorted out at work as well.

When I offered to pay her back, she told me ‘I’m Polish you have no family near I had to help’ she absolutely refused to take any money. I now owe her and would certainly pay her back in any way I could. That sort of kindness I’m not used too.

She’s my hero and I hope I get a chance to repay that debt I owe her. Even if I have to pass it on to someone else. She’s my hero and it will never be forgotten

Absolutely true.

I have a heart condition and it'd definitely helped me see how lucky I am to be alive and to make everyday matter.

People live in their internal worlds and don't look at what is going on around them or even begin to process seeing the world through the eyes of another

Empathy is a word that gets used a lot but people rarely understand it's true meaning.

"To each and everyone who battle through every day with some form of illness or disability each and every day , l have always said that those with those disabilities put healthy people to shame everytime ."

We just get on and live our lives - what's the alternative? Most disabled people just want the world to be accessible. They almost certainly don't want to be seen as inspirational for doing the shopping by themselves or for managing to get from A to B under their own steam. That's just ordinary life and should be achievable using mobility devices etc.

Anyhow, to answer the OP, the person I look up to most would be my late Grandad. I was clearing out his house earlier, so it's all a bit raw tonight. I found some fantastic photos and all his Army bits and pieces though, so that's good.
