Somewhere In The Ether…

Do you use the double thumbed, speed bandit technique like the kids all seem to today or else are you, like me, a single finger plodding prodder?

(It has taken me about thirty minutes to type this on my phone!)

A spot you want me

Single finger... I keep attempting the drag across the keys technique, and it is significantly quicker, but then forget and revert.

My thumb is a blaze of blurred texting, moving faster than the eye can focus like that bit on the Superman films.

Then I go back and slowly and painfully correct the many MANY mistakes I made..

I'm giggling here - despite using a smartphone way more than a PC, it takes me a while to type out my message then re read due to stupid autocorrect or auto "in- correction" sometimes with both hands. Using the Ipad however both hands all the time as it's larger.

Both. Sometimes I'll be incapacitated by something or other and only have use of one hand.

Right index finger only. Used to be that and left thumb but that became too painful with osteoarthritis

Double digits for me unless one hand is otherwise occupied I used to use a T9 keyboard which basically let me touch type again and I might go back to that actually because the stock keyboard buttons are waaaay too small

Two fingers, fairly slow, and I tend to drop the phone on my face a lot when texting in bed.

Depends who I'm messaging and what I'm typing, tends to be a combination of a finger and thumb or single finger.

Both thumbs when typing on my phone, but I invariably have to correct stuff as I end up hitting more than one character at a time.

On my laptop, I touch-type.

Even then I have to go back and proof read to correct the mistakes!

"Single finger... I keep attempting the drag across the keys technique, and it is significantly quicker, but then forget and revert. "

I can’t master the drag at all feels odd. Shifted over to voice notes mostly for people on WhatsApp and Facebook

I always hold my phone in my right hand, and swipe type with my right thumb. Only tap each letter if predictive text is playing up. Was a nightmare when I shut my thumb in a dates car door
