I used to be a big Who fan with little interest in The Stones but I've flipped completely in the last few years. So The Rolling Stones and Tumbling Dice.

Close call but the Stones edge it (with Start Me Up), but The Ox was one of the greatest bassists of all time (check out his isolated bass track on YouTube of Won't Get Fooled Again if you need convincing)

I’ve seen the Stones many times and they’ve been an obsession since I was about 10 years old so I’m very biased.

I’ve seen the Who a few times and nominate 5:15 as my favourite by them. I’d have loved to have seen them with Keith Moon on drums though!

I'm not a 'fan' of either but both have arguably some of the most epic songs ever. If I had to choose Stones just pip it for me. Fave tracks 'sympathy for the devil' from the Stones, 'Pinball Wizard' from the Who.

For me it has to be the Stones by a mile no question about that, however I have most of their albums on Vinyl now and love there early stuff. But I also love their newer stuff! So I am torn between two songs which helped me 'to get back in to' them a good few years ago and they are both from the Voodoo Lounge album. They are Suck on the Jugular and Moon is up both favourites because of Charlie Watts' great drumming on both tracks.

I would have always said the who, I didn't like the stones for years for no reason whatsoever.

But now I like them and I don't understand why I never liked them in the first place...

To date tho, if I went to a Duke box in the pub I'd go for a who song before a stone's song 95 percent of the time..

I agree the original is special. I'd argue the cover is too, it's the sound of a band breaking up.

Definitely the Stones, so many great songs to pick but it has to be Sympathy for the devil. I was luck enough to see them live in Paris 7 years ago, we got vip tickets so we were up in the pit only a couple of meters from them. Absolutely amazing live gig.
