I used to put a lot of booze away and had to stop drinking altogether as attempts to cut down never seemed to work.

Recently though, I've been having the odd drink and can leave it at that. I think I'll treat myself to a cheeky one this evening too.

Explain the difference between an odd and a cheeky drink

I prefer a sly one myself

Anything you like the taste of... Same with wines.

Ive had a glass from a vintage cru which cost telephone numbers a bottle... But, like all Italians, I prefer a chilled Asti Spumante brut...;-);-)

Sheffield

I prefer prosecco to cheap champagne or cava. A £6.99 bottle of prosecco is often a much nicer drink than some £20 supermarket own brand.

(though there are good ones out there you have to try them to know).

And if you're still not convinced get a bottle of cassis and make anything you're not so keen on into kir royale

True story:

At a white tie function in Europe, a tall distinguished gentleman offered a celebrity a glass of champagne...

In a strong cockney accent she declined...

"No fanks... Gives me gas..."

At which point a gentleman turned to our group and, indicating the champagne carrier, smiled warmly...

"Madame... May I present Monsieur le Baron Krugg..."
