Hi all. I'm new here. I do have a friend who uses the forums but wanted to ask you all, what did you wish you knew about fab when you joined up? What should I expect? |

People with nicest personas can be shitty in despicable ways if things dont go their way.
People can flood you with kindness even if you have never met. Without seeking anything to gain.
In short be ready to be surprised with a difference between peoples intentions, words and actions. Sometimes.
Mostly just enjoy and when you dont - log out.

I wish I’d known how NICE people are on this site.
I came on Fabs not really expecting anything other than pervs and sordid activity. But I’m pleased to say (from my experience so far) everybody’s been lovely. Some of the forum threads can get a bit angsty, but I just find another friendlier one and I don’t get embroiled in the bitching. True, not everybody is keen on everybody else, but that’s just life.

It's within the rules that no answer is a perfectly acceptable way of responding to a message.
You don't owe anyone your attention or a reason why you don't want to meet them, and although some do take the hump at having a message deleted with no response, most understand that it's just the way the site works.
When I joined I felt obliged to respond to every message but I got quite a bit of abuse from a couple of guys who were way outside my age range when I sent a polite thanks but no thanks. I wish I'd known how much easier it is to just delete any message from someone who patently hasn't read my profile. |

Nothing is private unless you keep it to yourself.
You can’t trust people as you would normally be able to.
There is a lot of jealousy.
There is a lot of sniping.
There are people who believe they are better than others.
Safe sex doesn’t really mean that, lots of people have their special friends.
All that aside ...
You can get a lot of support here.
So many lovely people.
The forums will probably make you giggle and tut in equal measure.
Be yourself.
Never be put off posting because others dominate the forums.
It can be a great place if you allow it to be.
It’s nice to see you here and I hope you enjoy the experience. Just enjoy the ride and take it all with a pinch of salt  |

Forums/ chatting
Photograph people
Lifestyle people
People who just want to find/be found and meet and don’t do much else
All the fakes, time wasters , cams etc
Find near me for people who travel |

I'm going to focus on the positives of fab because I think that if ever there was a good time to, now would be it (I mean sure, you get the territorial people who go a bit batshit crazy, the lies... oh the lies, the sad, the mad and the downright bad).
In my years on fab I've learned that people can truly be supportive and lovely. Even when it's not something that's not related to swinging, if you reach out, someone will reach back and help you. I've found that opening up to others can be so rewarding - I used to mistrust people and compartmentalise but when I stopped doing so I found love and friends who are very dear to me.
I think staying true to who you are, speaking up when you're unhappy and making the most of it (and if you go to socials, don't get really d*unk ) and you'll enjoy it. The fora are interesting, diverse, eyeroll inducing and frustrating but overall a great place to be. I hope your time on here is a good way, and I'd echo the sentiment of taking time away if it's not working for you. Have fun OP. |

That the fab website is ancient and it needs an overhaul.
Doesn't support bigger monitor screens, all the content is locked into the middle.
You can't navigate left or right to cycle through someone's gallery, you have to keep on going backwards and forwards.
The website itself is very accessibility friendly if you have problems navigating with text. |

You've clearly got your head screwed on, and knowing someone else on here, means that you already have a good idea what to expect.
I would say that as a single lady looking for men, you would be better to block the lot and search for yourself.
Especially now, even I'm getting a fair few messages, and most guys seem to be looking for ladies under 45.
When lockdown is over clubs are a fun and safe way to meet.
In the meantime enjoy the forums and making new friends. |
