Both working apart from Christmas day and Stephens day and the new years. Rather spend the time with family.

on the hill NordWest of

I'll be out in the woods with the dog and maybe one trip to the beach.

There's nowhere really to go with everything closing at 8PM. Besides the idea of mingling in a closed space doesn't really sound attractive at present.

some of the best craics out are Xmas time. alot of pubs will shut doors at 8 and prob get u out by 9. lots, especially young will then hit House parties. Xmas eve, Stephens day, day after, new years day all great days over the Xmas period but then again depends what you're into.

I spoke to lads in pubs last night. doors shut they were inside, publican said he won't over do it. out by 9. its one of the most ridiculous rules I ever heard so makes no diff either way when people return to unregulated house parties. in saying that, I don't blame. they went along and got vaxed and now boostered and did what was asked of them.

My town

I always loved going out over the Xmas period, not this year I won't. Happy to stay at home with my girls and getting on with it. More to life than going out drinking and socialising as much as I love it. Still gonna enjoy my Xmas. No point moaning about it, and if people get annoyed cause the pubs shut earlier these people need to cop on we still in a pandemic it's not vanished

"will you head out much over the Xmas period?"

For sure I’ll be out as much as I can. Couldn’t care less about the restrictions.. enough is enough. Christmas is a time for enjoying life with friends & family and we sadly never got to enjoy it properly last year. Life is too short to be cowering in fear of something that inevitably comes to us all

My father died recently of a non-Covid related illness. He spent the last 2 years of his life terrified in isolation. Before that he was a massive character who was beloved by so many people.. isolation only made his health suffer further. Very sad to watch, and I have no doubt it’s happened to so many others close to us all

you will always more then likely have to live with covid and its new variants and just get on with it. you have some back living life, vaccinated and boostered as best they can and some petrified. that more then likely is how it will always be. some can't get away from it, others will go out and enjoy themselves to the max.

sorry to hear and condolences. your father's fear was prob made worse by the media. thats it, so much more to life then sitting in. could be dead by any means possible in the coming weeks.

"Was wondering how long it would take before this thread turned into another covid thread "

The topic is pretty integral to the question posed tbf. I’m sure everyone of us would rather talk about literally anything else but the sad reality is that the impending restrictions will influence most of our plans one way or another

that's because they're only introduced and a joke that will do nothing instead of tackling the problem areas if they want to do something. even worse case, lockdown In January, most wouldn't give a fuck. Xmas period is over.

yes upto the last few days not a murmur in ages. so much so for vaccines and boosters. u don't need to be a scientist to no variants emerge in countries with few vaxed. thats what happens and then allow it enter here through travel. as someone said to me yesterday, they can't live with covid normally but we were asleep with contact tracing, antigen tests and filters in indoor premises but predominantly In schools but this is not about that. it's about enjoying Xmas to the max and I hope to see most doing it.
